Around the world millions marched in solidarity against global warming. Our area was no different. Not only did university students meet at the UW-L Clock Tower at noon for 11 minutes but area high schools had a walkout joining other students worldwide and even large businesses such as Amazon joined the walkout numbers.
The La Crosse area community held a city wide march beginning in Burns Park across the street from the main library at 5:30pm Friday. The cry for climate change was clear and strong.
For the most part the 200 some protesters seemed to be either under 30/over 60. My assumption is that in between age group is either still at work/ getting dinner together for their families.
Ending fossil fuel dependency is important for all of us. Alternative sources need to be fostered more and more.
We all need to do our part for the future of all our descendants.
